Flâneur Wines was founded by DC resident Marty Doerschlag with the goal and desire to grow and make the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the world.

We grow grapes with organic practices on 2 diverse estate vineyards Flanerie Vineyard in the Ribbon Ridge AVA and La Belle Promenade Vineyard on Chehalem Mountains AVA.  In charge of farming is Jaime Cantu who has been growing grapes in the Willamette Valley for 30 years.   We truly believe that farming is key to making great wines.

Winemaking is at the direction of Grant Coulter our Winemaker.  Before joining Flâneur in 2016 Grant spent 9 years making wines at Beaux Freres in Oregon.  Grant has brought that learning and his own philosophy of winemaking to fruition at Flâneur.  Grant’s winemaking style is not by a strict protocol or by the book.  Sometimes we use whole cluster, sometimes not.  He looks to make compelling wines in small lots, showcasing the vintage in which the grapes were grown.  No need for the muscle or make-up.

Be Generous.  Be Warm.  Be Welcoming.  Every person that comes into our winery is welcomed as a guest.  We are a small and tight-knit team.  When you are growing grapes and making wine, there are some long days that run into long nights.  Our team is as diverse as it gets with a common goal: Excellence in everything we do.  We do it in a place we love, Oregon.

Beauty is why
