Banville Wine Merchants is a female-owned, national Importer and wholesaler founded in 2004 by Lia Tolaini-Banville and her Father Pier Luigi Tolaini. With deep roots in Italy, today Banville Wine Merchants represents meticulously selected wineries from top-producing wine regions around the world that share a common belief in integrity, quality, authenticity, and family.

Before founding Banville Wine Merchants, Pier Luigi returned to his native Italy in 1998 and purchased some of the best land in the region of Chianti Classico in the noted commune of Castelnuovo Berardenga. He constructed, from the roots up, a state-of-the-art winery and brought together the best technology and winemakers to bring to light wines that would be a true expression of this significant terroir. The belief in the best fruit produces the best wine; is the fundamental principle of the Tolaini estate. Tolaini epitomizes the concept of “family business” and today Pier Luigi’s daughter, Lia Tolaini-Banville, is running the estate and preserving her father’s legacy while bringing new ideas and innovation, all while honoring the distinct terroir of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
