Élevée Winegrowers, Willamette Valley, Oregon

Élevée Winegrowers is a “Study in Terroir”, focused on exploring the distinct flavors of the Willamette Valley’s diverse Appellations. Their ultimate goal is to introduce you to the most beautiful, dramatic, and wonderfully diverse personalities of Pinot noir and Riesling from Oregon’s Willamette Valley. To achieve this they have identified, and continue to identify, the most dramatic environments to grow their grapes, that promise to deliver wines with the most dramatic expressions. They then carefully farm their vineyards and handle their wines in ways that capture the purest expression of each site’s beautiful personality.

Tom and France Fitzpatrick

They arrived in Oregon in 2007, after Viticulture & Enology studies at UC Davis and time spent working in New Zealand, Napa Valley, Washington State, and Burgundy. Unexpected learnings from Tom’s Viticulture & Enology Master Thesis research, reinforced by observations made while making wine in Morey-St-Denis with Domaine Hubert Lignier, motivated a move to Oregon to build their Terroir-focused, Sustainable, small family winery from scratch. Believing that great wine is all about “great care”, to this day, much of the work and care involved in their 1,400 case annual production continues to be performed by them personally… from tractor work, to cellar work, to market work.
