Chef Raymond Melendez brings a wealth of passion and global experience to the National Democratic Club’s culinary program. Born and raised on Long Island, Raymond’s early memories are rooted in family gatherings filled with fresh, local produce and the welcoming spirit of the mom & pop markets. These formative experiences instilled a love for sharing meals and bringing people together.
In 2012, Chef Melendez relocated to the DMV area to pursue his culinary dreams, starting humbly at a Capitol Hill café and rising through the ranks to become an Executive Chef. His commitment to the farm-to-table ethos, inspired by Eastern Market’s offerings, has remained steadfast throughout his career.
Raymond’s journey has taken him from the kitchens of renowned restaurant groups in the DMV to the diverse culinary landscapes of Europe.
