Alexis Rivas is a native of Rockville, Maryland. He studied Culinary Arts at The Art Institute in Philadelphia and then came back to DC and started working for Michel Richard at Citronelle and Central. Alexis then went to work for Cork Alum Rob Weland at Garrison on Capitol Hill. It was at Garrison that he found a passion for working with local farmers and cooking regional specialties. He then to the Dabney to further his skills and knowledge about Mid-Atlantic cooking. After his time at the Dabney he was selected to be on the opening team of Causa, a chance that he jumped at because of his desire to both be on the opening team of a new restaurant also craft his skills at a tasting menu based on Peruvian Cuisine. He was at Causa until he joining the team at Cork as the Managing Chef.
