Chef Frederik De Pue, a Belgian native renowned for his culinary expertise honed in Europe’s top restaurants, has left an indelible mark on Washington, D.C.’s gastronomic landscape. His journey in the nation’s capital began as he served as a chef for embassies, gradually ascending to become one of the most respected figures in the city’s culinary scene.
Over the years, Chef Frederik has manifested his culinary vision through various acclaimed establishments, including Table, Azure, Menu MBK, and Flamant in Annapolis, MD. Yet, his culinary pursuits didn’t stop there; he ventured into catering, enriching his repertoire and setting the stage for his latest venture, The Henri.
Named in homage to his grandfather, The Henri embodies Chef Frederik’s culinary philosophy and familial heritage. With a 60-seat restaurant and a 50-seat bar adorned with an open kitchen, The Henri offers an immersive dining experience. At its heart lies the Bonnet rotisserie, a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to French-meets-Belgian cuisine.
The bar, boasting classic cocktails and a curated selection of casual snacks, provides a cozy respite for patrons. Meanwhile, The Henri’s pièce de résistance lies in its six private dining rooms, each equipped with complete A/V systems and sound-absorbing insulation, ensuring an intimate and personalized dining experience for gatherings ranging from four to 80 guests. Chef Frederik’s dedication to culinary excellence and unwavering commitment to hospitality shine through every aspect of The Henri, making it a quintessential destination for gastronomes seeking a blend of sophistication and warmth in the heart of Washington, D.C.
