The PlumpJack Collection of Wineries consists of four unique estates located in three distinct areas in the Napa Valley that showcase their unique terroir: PlumpJack Estate in Oakville, CADE Estate and 13th Vineyard on Howell Mountain, and Odette Estate in Stags Leap District. They believe that winemaking should honor the land, both aesthetically and ecologically. Their philosophy of making luxury wine in harmony with the environment begins in the soil of their estate vineyards. CADE Winery was the first in Napa Valley to achieve LEED Gold Certification, followed by Odette Winery. They celebrate the places the wine comes from and the people who contribute to their renowned reputation. Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty established PlumpJack Winery in 1995, inspired by one of Shakespeare’s most memorable characters, Sir John “PlumpJack” Falstaff. PlumpJack’s down-to-earth, fun-loving, irreverent nature is rivaled only by his fierce loyalty to Prince Hal (Henry V), with whom he shares more than a few goblets of sack (wine) at the local tavern. “If sack and sugar be a fault,” intones PlumpJack, “God help the wicked.” PlumpJack Winery appreciates this hearty fellow’s priorities. They pay allegiance to their world-class vineyard by crafting wines of the highest quality, and celebrate the convivial spirit of our namesake with their inviting, approachable style. Even their tasting room encourages camaraderie, with doors wide open to long-time wine lovers and new enthusiasts alike.
