Baron Eric de Rothschild is Managing Partner of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). He is also Chairman, Partner and Director of various entities of the Rothschild Bank and Chairman of the Rothschild Foundations and the Shoah Memorial. Baron Eric de Rothschild succeeded his uncle Baron Elie de Rothschild as head of Château Lafite Rothschild (Premier Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac) and Château Duhart-Milon (Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac) in 1974 .  In the 1980’s, he initiated the expansion of Domaines Barons de Rothschild company in Bordeaux.  He bought Château Rieussec (Premier Grand Cru Classé in Sauternes) in 1984 and Château l’Evangile (Pomerol) in 1990. At the end of the 1980’s he led the development of the family group outside Bordeaux. He took over Viña Los Vascos in Colchagua Valley, Chile in 1988. Ten years later, he founded Bodegas CARO in Mendoza, Argentina, together with the Catena family and bought Domaine d’Aussières in Corbières, Languedoc. In 2008, Baron Eric started one of his most ambitious project: Domaine de Long Dai, a vineyard planted from scratch in the Penglai Peninsula, in the province of Shandong, China. In 2018, he handed in the management of Domaines Barons de Rothschild to his daughter Saskia and became managing partner.
