Butterfly Spirits is a Bethesda, Maryland-based craft liquor brand focused on botanically forward spirits with a vintage feel. Founded by Montgomery County natives Josh Ammerman and his wife, brand-owner, Alyssa, out of their shared love of cocktails and the complexity, beauty, and joy they bring.

Butterfly Spirits initially launched with their award-winning Elderberry vodka, a smooth, lightly floral, and easy-drinking spirit. Since then, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include its flagship lavender-blue,
color-changing Butterfly Botanical Liqueur, Kent Cob Hazelnut Whiskey, and their ready-to-drink Butterfly Vodka Soda canned cocktail.

Not content to bring to market “yet another vodka or bourbon”, the brand places an emphasis on an array of visually stunning, flavorful, and highly unique products. Each spirit is designed to be enjoyed simply over ice or mixed easily into distinctive and refreshing cocktails. Since its launch in 2020, the brand has expanded rapidly in the DC metropolitan area.
