Until its reopening in 2013, Iron Gate was Washington’s oldest operating restaurant. The original carriageway houses the bar and a year round dining space, while the courtyard overhung with grapevines and century-old wisteria allows for covered alfresco dining. The carriage house and stables reveal a charming and intimate dining room warmed by an original fireplace.
In this unique space, Executive Chef Anthony Chittum are revitalizing the Iron Gate with a menu that takes inspiration from the cuisines of Greece & Italy and interpreting the traditions and techniques using the finest products from the MidAtlantic foodshed. Chef’s dishes are complemented by an award-winning wine list focusing on the wines of Greece.
