Pearl 6101 is a true neighborhood restaurant located in the middle of the avenues of San Francisco. Co-chefs and owners Mel Lopez and Joyce Conway prepare seafood-centric cuisine and house made pastas including some Mediterranean influence. They met as line cooks in a busy kitchen over a decade ago and have been best friend ever since. They went on to pursue different positions in different restaurants, but missed cooking with each others company so they started a pop-up called B.L.U.D (bitches livin up dinner) that carried on for 3 years creating a loyal following. When the opportunity arose to open a female driven spot where there would be no outside investors, just a tight crew of friends that would head each department of the restaurant, the real work began. They all collectively came up with concept and design. Lopez and Conway also began writing menus, testing recipes, building a kitchen crew and before they knew it, opening day arrived. They have been blessed to have gotten such praise and support in less than a years time and was extremely excited to win Chef(s) of the year by Eater Sf.
