Having worked at some of the finest restaurants in the country, most recently serving as Chef de Cuisine at Michel by Michel Richard in Tyson’s Corner, Chef Jon Mathieson brings an incredible wealth of culinary talent and experience in fine cuisine to the downtown power spot.

No stranger to fine dining, Mathieson has demonstrated his award-winning cooking skills at such acclaimed restaurants as La Laurier in New York City, the Homestead Inn in Greenwich, Connecticut, and New York’s renowned Le Bernardin. He also served as Chef de Cuisine at Lespinasse in New York City, a restaurant which received four stars from The New York Times, The Five-Diamond Award from AAA, and rating of the number one restaurant in the country by Wine Spectator Magazine.

Chef Mathieson’s dynamic culinary career is also highlighted by his past role as Executive Chef at Stonehedge Inn in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. He developed a “new French” menu for Silks, the Inn’s acclaimed restaurant, and received rave reviews and national recognition, including a DiRona Award, three stars from the Boston Globe, and four diamonds from the AAA.

From Silks, Chef Mathieson accepted a position as Chef de Cuisine at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia where he was credited with raising the level of culinary talent and cuisine at the restaurant, helpingestablish 2941 as one of the most recognized restaurants in the DC Metro area. Mathieson also most recently served as Chef de Cuisine at Michel by Michel Richard, the acclaimed fine dining spot inside the Ritz Carlton – Tyson’s Corner.
