Chris Hanmer’s culinary career has steadily progressed from peeling potatoes at a country club at the age of 15 to claiming a gold medal as the youngest-ever American chef to win a World Pastry Team Championship. In 2006, he became the executive pastry chef for the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas, and in 2010 opened The School of Pastry Design. Most recently, in 2011, Chris took home the winning title on Bravo’s “Top Chef: Just Desserts.”
Chef Hanmer is living out his lifelong dream, sharing his passion for pastry at The School of Pastry Design. He is a natural teacher and has a devoted following of Las Vegas locals and enthusiastic “Top Chef” viewers. His spectacular sugar sculptures and chocolate showpieces have graced the pages of major global food magazines and frequently appear on the Food Network.
When not creating exquisite, edible works of art, Hanmer may be found at home, cooking dinner with his wife and young daughter.
