One of the most exclusive locations in the nation’s capital,Sofitel Washington D.C. Lafayette Square, is proud to announce Franck Loquet as its new Executive Chef. Loquet boasts more than 15 years of culinary and managerial experience, and will oversee the hotel’s chic restaurant iCi Urban Bistro and trendy Le Bar.
Chef Loquet has worked at Michelin-starred hotels and restaurants, banquet and catering facilities, and classic and fusion bistros worldwide. Specializing in French, Mediterranean, American, and Asian cuisines, Loquet honed his culinary skills working as Chef de Cuisine at the award-winning Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro inMilwaukee,Wisconsin, as the Executive Sous Chef at Calihan Catering Inc. inChicago,Illinois, and as an Executive Sous Chef at the Ze Kitchen Galerie inParis. Before joining Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Loquet taught as an instructor at Ecole de Cuisine Alain Ducasse inFranceand in 2009, he contributed to the opening of renowned Chef Alain Ducasse’s first school for amateur cooks.
Highlighting fresh and local products, Loquet will draw inspiration for his menu from the popular nearby White House Farmers’ Market FRESHFARM. His signature dishes include Seared Scallops with a Lemon and Pepper Gremolata and Braised Beef Cheek ‘Provencale’ served with Olive and Parmesan Polenta.

Loquet received his culinary and restaurant management degrees at the Ecole Hôtelière de Paris Jean Drouant.
