Jon Taub

Bub & Pop’s

Washington, DC

Featured:  Saturday, May 13 Grand Tasting

Chef Jon, originally from Philadelphia, was trained in classic French cuisine.  He has worked with some of the great chefs from around the world.  He brings his refined experiences, nuanced technic and expansive palate to Bub and Pop’s, your family run sandwich shop near DuPont Circle.

The kitchen is run by Chef Jon while his mother, Arlene, handles the front of house and business affairs.  Their restaurant is named after Chef Jon’s grandparents, Bub and Pop, who opened a deli and grocery store in Philly after WWII.

Last year Bub and Pop’s won a RAMMY, appeared on Guy Fieri’s Dinners, Drive Ins and Dives, and continued our solid 4 1/2 star rating on Yelp.  We have excited the local food critics, won accolades from the Washington Post, City Paper, Washingtonian Magazine, New York Post and numerous web reviewers.  Bub and Pop’s has become a destination for local folks and tourists from around the world seeking an exceptional Philly style hoagie with a Chef Jon’s twist.

On select Saturday evenings Chef Jon transforms Bub and Pop’s into an intimate fine dining restaurant.  He offers Supper at Bub’s – a prix fixe multi course fine dining experience.  Laura Hayes of the City Paper named Supper at Bub’s Best Pop-up of the Year.  Chef Jon’s eclectic menu has delighted the novice and the seasoned DC foodie with his world-class combination of tastes, textures, drink parings, plating and visual delights.
